A Celebration of Diverse Artistic Voices

This year’s exhibition brings together a remarkable group of artists whose works reflect individuality, experimentation, and deep cultural roots.

DHIREN SHASMAL

A master of technique and folk-cubist fusion, Dhiren Shasmal geometrically deconstructs and rebuilds figures into rhythmic, meditative structures. His work blends vibrant colors with traditional motifs to transform rigid anatomy into an ethereal world of fantasy that is both structurally complex and innocently beautiful.

RAJIB SUR ROY

Known for his intricate detailing and focus on human emotions. His work often bridges the gap between the figurative and the decorative, frequently appearing in major galleries across India.

SARBANI GANGULY

One of the prominent female voices in the group. Her work is often intimate, focusing on the domestic sphere, womanhood, and nature, executed with a soft yet firm hand.

UTPAL GHOSH

His work leans toward the abstract-figurative. He is known for using bold textures and a sophisticated color sense to explore themes of urban life and human relationships.

SUBRATA GHOSH

Noted for his thematic depth, Subrata often explores the interaction between man and nature. His canvases are usually rich in color and layered with meaning.

ANJANA DUTTA

Her work often carries a lyrical quality. She is known for her delicate treatment of subjects, often focusing on the grace of the human form and the beauty of the everyday.

SUJIT KUMAR GHOSH

A veteran artist celebrated for his mastery of the Wash Technique, a hallmark of the Bengal School. His paintings often have a dreamlike, ethereal quality, focusing on serene landscapes and figures.

GAUTAM SARKAR

Often works with symbolic imagery. His style is characterized by a strong sense of rhythm and the use of traditional motifs reimagined in a modern, sometimes surreal context.

SUBRATA KARMAKAR

Often moves between painting and sculpture. His work is known for being structurally sound and visually heavy, often exploring the “weight” of social issues.

DEBARSHI SHASMAL

Debarshi Shasmal reimagines traditional Bengal art through a modern, animation-inspired lens, replacing static forms with highly expressive, character-driven illustrations. By blending bold outlines and cinematic gestures with Indian mythological themes, he creates a graphic-novel sensibility that makes heritage feel vibrantly contemporary and whimsical.
